I've never done the farmer's market but I have a friend that has been there for about 5 years now. Its Saturday mornings from 9-1 p.m. and I think she said it was $175 - May to Thanksgiving. But if you want to "guest" at it I believe its $15 for 1 day. I think she wants to do guest spots at the Rosseau Farmer's market this year to test it out as well. I'm not sure what day that is on. That is were the "money" is as there are alot of wealthy cottagers there. I'm also thinking of just setting up a table in my office driveway as its almost across from the Farmer's market in Bracebridge. I've done yardsales there and gotten lots of people so it may work out. Have you ever been to the Baysville Walkabout? I've been going there to buy stuff for the past 3 years. What I like about it its that its not just crafts but people sell everything from crafts to antiques to yardsale stuff. The tables are $40 for the day and its on July 25th this year. They shut down the main street and its all vendors. Last year I saw a lady that made felted purses. One caught my eye but it was $400. As I was leaving a family came up to that same purse and the lady said to the kids...lets buy this for gramma and promptly paid for it! Now thats the kind of customer I'd like to have LOL. As the Baysville Walkabout is on July 25th and I sell mittens I'm thinking of trying to do a Christmas In July theme. As a newbie to this kind of thing I've got lots of ideas, but I'm sure I'll narrow it down once I see how things work. If you want the info as to who to contact or even the forms I can help you out with the Baysville one as I already have the forms. You can google the Bracebridge Farmer's Market. There is a person there to contact for info. I have a website called www.thebackyardbear.com and it has more of my stuff on it as well as a blog. Its a free one but you can only put 5 items in the store so I put them on another page as well. I'm also have a store on icraft.ca and Artisty.com. Artisty is brand new so I got in on the first "100 its 6 month free" but after that its only $5 a month and they advertise that it won't go up either. They are past their 100 stores in it now. On Icraft.ca I've been contacted by a couple of Canadian stores for me to sell to them at wholesale. I'm not going to but at least I know that I'm getting looked at on that site. I'm also on ETSY but I find that they are a little snooty and most of it is jewellery. Well...sorry I'm chatting way too much here. I'd better go and get some work done LOL Mary Ann
It was a couple of summers ago when I saw it and I thought it was really neat. I talked to the store owner and I think the person that put it in there on consignment was just starting to do that kind of thing. I haven't seen anything else there since. Maybe it didn't sell. Well, its cool that we are in almost the same local, me Muskoka and you Haliburton area. I can't want for spring. I love the winter but its starting to wear on me....but on the plus side its making me stay inside enough to get crafts done. Do you sell at crafts shows? I'm just starting out and decided to do the Baysville Walkabout this summer and maybe once or twice at the Farmers Market. I work full time as well and I don't want to tie myself down for the summer.
