GHOST SHIP

This is our Halloween/Harvest display this year on our parents yard. Every year on Thanksgiving the whole family (20 plus people) get together at my folks and we put up a display in their front yard right along the highway so all the cars passing by can see it. This one was my sister-in-law's idea I belive. It turned out better than we'd ever hoped. The guys did a spectacular job building a ship in less than 10 hrs. The weather was dismal as it usually is on this day - cold, rainy, overcast.....but that doesn't stop us. We work on it all day from about 9:00 am to about 4:30 pm...then we all go in to a tiny little house that is totally overheated with a wood stove and we eat like pigs. We don't all have room at the table so we usually eat in about 3 rounds. It's the same at Christmas. But the food is excellent, and then we wait til it's dark, and we all go out and stand on the highway to see how the display looks in the dark. It's a blast, I almost think it is more fun than Christmas.

I had the chance to see this fabulous display in the dark on my way home. It is incredible!!!! What Lydia didn't tell you is that this display is probably 15 feet tall or more!!! It's huge, and looks so real.
Their annual displays for Halloween and Christmas are the envy of all the neighboring towns. Always fun to see what they come up with each year.
